About

I’m going to use this as both a “Why Am I Talking?” space and a “Please talk with me” space. 🙂

You know from the intro page that I’m a “Senior Business Analyst and former Information Technology manager in the public sector with a background in technical training, software development and business analysis.”

I’m also an 11-year Air Force veteran, and the father of a now 18-year-old that I have raised using Positive Discipline and Montessori principles and tools since he was a toddler.

As a Certified Positive Discipline Educator, I’ve trained in Parent Education, and facilitated parenting workshops with other parents.

In my career in information technology, I’ve been exposed to concepts like Lean Management, Agile software development, behavioral economics (believe it or not!) and other related ideas and methodologies and tools, and I’m interested in finding overlap between those domains and the domain of parenting and exploring them.

From my artist’s bio describing my work in my chosen medium of pen and ink (Sharpies) on paper (Post-It notes):

“Some pieces represent reminders to myself, some represent aspirations, some are no more than stray thoughts or ideas, and others represent acknowledgement and acceptance. For me, this project was about holding on to things that are inherently transient – a thought, a feeling, a wish, a desire, a song. And holding them in a medium that is also inherently transient, and imperfect, and unstable. And accepting the curls, folds, and stains as an expression and reflection of that transience. I hope to continue practicing, and embracing emergence, and transience, as links in a chain that connect us to ourselves, and ourselves to others.”

I invite you to explore with me, and connect with me, on LinkedIn, WordPress, or Twitter.
